Inter Miami manager Tata Martino has shared his opinion on Jordi Alba’s wonder strike last night for the Herons against Nashville SC.

The Florida franchise made it three wins from three since Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez’s departure for the Copa America, with Inter Miami in fine form and not missing their star attackers in the slightest this summer.

Inter Miami last week beat reigning MLS Cup champions Columbus Crew have previously claimed three points against the Philadelphia Union despite being 1-0 down and having two players sent off, with the Herons bagging another huge win last night against league rivals Nashville.

And Martino has shared his verdict on Alba’s outstanding goal for Inter Miami on the night.

Martino ‘not surprised’ by Alba’s goal as Inter Miami claim 2-1 win

Speaking to MLS’s official website, Martino stated that he was ‘not surprised’ by Alba’s insane long-range effort for Inter Miami, with the visitors claiming a big 2-1 win against Nashville, with Ian Fray scoring in back-to-back games.

With away days to Music City regarded as one of the toughest in MLS, Inter Miami coming away from Nashville with another impressive result is a big testament to how far Martino has taken this side since his appointment last year.

Yet even with Alba scoring a contender for Goal of the Season, Martino didn’t sound too surprised by the quality the veteran left-back showed in his striker, though the Inter Miami coach was pleased with the defender’s performance on the night.

Martino said: “I’m not surprised because he is a player with so much category and quality. He [Alba] puts me at ease for what he gives the team and the options he gives us in attack and how well he played defensively. Jordi is an internationally recognized player and we’re lucky to have him on our team.”

Alba stepped up in a big way vs Nashville last night

Alba has been one of Inter Miami’s most consistent performers since joining Messi and Sergio Busquets in Florida last summer, with the defender shoring up the left-hand side and proving to be a real offensive threat for the Herons when needed.

And the veteran Spanish defender did just that last night against Nashville, with Alba scoring what could go down as Inter Miami’s best goal of the season if Messi and Suarez can’t respond with efforts of their own.

Indeed, Alba has taken to MLS like a duck to water, and the former Barcelona superstar has found new life at Inter Miami, where this year the fullback will want to lead the Florida franchise to MLS Cup glory.
