Inter Miami have been told by former Portugal international Pedro Mendes to finally bring Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi together in Florida.
Soccer fans for years have dreamt of seeing arguably the two greatest players of all time play together on the same side, with Messi and Ronaldo fierce rivals at FC Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively during their peak years.
With 13 Ballon d’Ors between them, it’s no real wonder why supporters believe the time is now for Messi and Ronaldo to finally team up on the pitch, with Inter Miami the obvious destination given the American lifestyle compared to Saudi Arabia.
And Ronaldo’s former international teammate, Mendes, has now urged the Herons to make the move.

Ronaldo joining Messi at Inter Miami ‘would be a dream come true’
Speaking to Goal, the former FC Porto midfielder shared his ‘dream’ of seeing Messi and Ronaldo play for the same team in Inter Miami, though Mendes admits that the transfer would be near-impossible to pull off.
Ronaldo is, by most accounts, the highest-paid athlete on the planet, with the Portuguese legend single-handily earning on his own more than more the entire rosters of MLS teams, yet the dream for Mendes is still there.
Mendes said on the prospect of Messi and Ronaldo playing together at Inter Miami: “If Cristiano Ronaldo joined Inter Miami it would be amazing for the fans and incredible for football in America.
“It would mean that the two best players in the history and future of football, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi would finish their careers together which would be a dream come true. However, I can’t see it happening. It would be very difficult.”

Ronaldo moving to MLS makes no sense at this stage in his career
Ronaldo choosing Saudi Arabia over a move to America in 2022 was a telling sign of where the former Manchester United man wanted to spend the final years of his career.
And two years on with Messi now in MLS at Inter Miami, the idea of Ronaldo joining the Argentine superstar now feels nothing short of impossible, with the striker unlikely to swap Saudi Arabia for the United States.
Indeed, Ronaldo has been impressive in the Saudi Pro League and is now one of the highest-paid people on the entire planet, and a move to MLS now would make little sense for the Portugues icon, despite some suggestions.
