A sporting director for a US-based club has now shared what he likes about his team’s latest signing from Inter Miami.
The MLS summer transfer window opens at long last next week, with the Herons expected to be one of the busiest sides in the market as Inter Miami look to fill in the holes needed to give the roster the extra push needed for MLS Cup and the Supporters’ Shield.
As well as new signings, there’s a good chance that a number of players could leave, with Diego Gomez already linked with a move to Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion, with other youngsters potentially wanted by European clubs.
Yet one Inter Miami youngster has already made the permanent move away from Florida this week.

Edison Azcona completes permanent Las Vegas Lights switch from Inter Miami
As per their official website, USL Championship side Las Vegas Lights FC have confirmed the signing of Inter Miami attacker Edison Azcona, with the forward’s loan deal becoming a permanent one.
The first homegrown Inter Miami academy player ever to be sold, the 20-year-old Dominican Republic international has impressed in the US second-tier this season, and Lights sporting director Gianleonardo Neglia was more than pleased with the signing of Azcona.
Neglia said on the signing of Azcona: “We are proud to be able to complete the purchase option agreement for Edison as part of our ongoing commitment to bring in young, talented players, who will be here long-term.
“We look forward to Edison’s continued development as we believe he has a bright future and we’re happy that he is a player that this community can identify with and call their own in this new era, as well as in the upcoming Olympic Games.”

Azcona will want to make a name for himself away from Florida
The USL Championship is proving every year to be one of the best divisions in North America for young players to get good minutes and to develop their game ahead of a potential move to MLS or even to Europe.
And Azcona making the decision to join the Lights on a permanent deal could be a wise decision from the former Inter Miami forward, who could develop nicely with the Nevada franchise in the years to come.
Indeed, at 20-years-old and already a full international. Azcona has a lot going for him to suggest that the forward will be back in MLS in a few seasons time, and the attacker will want to buckle down and develop his game with the Lights.
