Inter Miami have reportedly joined the race to sign a USA international who this summer has already been linked with a move to Premier League side Aston Villa.
The Herons are set for a big transfer window with the Florida franchise ready to finally add to their roster and to recruit the talent needed to win MLS Cup and to claim the Supporters’ Shield over the likes of FC Cincinnati.
With Inter Miami linked with the likes of Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane, it’s clear that Tata Martino’s side want to sign another big-name player from Europe to complement the likes of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
and the Herons have seemingly thrown their hat in the ring to sign a USMNT star.

Inter Miami join race to sign Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter Miami have joined the growing list of clubs interested in signing Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie, who this summer has already caught the eye of Premier League side Villa.
As per the report, a number of clubs are interested in signing the Texan-born USA international, though Inter Miami joining the race and offering the prospect of playing with Messi could sway McKennie’s head to make a stunning return back home.
Experienced in the UEFA Champions League and a regular for the Stars and Stripes, there’s a real chance that Inter Miami signing McKennie and bringing the midfielder back to America could be yet another milestone transfer for MLS.
However, whilst the prospect of playing with Messi, Suarez and Sergio Busquets is a tempting prospect for McKennie, the 25-year-old midfielder will feel like he can play at the highest level in Europe next season, having already done so for Juventus in the last year.

Herons might need a miracle if they’re to land McKennie this summer
Whilst Messi’s move to Inter Miami last year opened the door wide open for MLS sides to make ambitious signings, the thought of McKennie heading back to America this summer feels somewhat far-fetched.
The USA international is coming off a good year with Juventus and is more than capable of joining another top European club who will be competing in next season’s Champions League.
And for Inter Miami, even with the appeal of Messi and Suarez, signing McKennie might be a stretch too far this summer considering the options the midfielder has on his table already this transfer window.
