Inter Miami will reportedly miss out on Marco Reus, with an MLS rival set to land the former Borussia Dortmund star.
The 35-year-old forward is currently a free-agent after leaving the Bundesliga giants at the end of the season with the expiration of his contract, with Reus linked with a move to Inter Miami, as it became quickly apparent that MLS would be the attacker’s next destination.
With the Herons already having Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez on their books, adding Reus to the mix would have been quite the move from Inter Miami, one that would have given the Florida franchise easily the best attack in MLS history.
However, it now looks like Reus will be heading to another club in the division.

Reus set to sign for LA Galaxy despite Inter Miami links
According to Fabrizio Romano, the LA Galaxy are closing in on a deal to sign Reus, with the final details being ironed out ahead of the German legend signing for the MLS giants this summer.
Romano wrote: “LA Galaxy are closing in on deal to sign Marco Reus as free agent! Final details being sorted, still some work to do with player and his camp but LA Galaxy now close to getting it done. Reus, ready to move to MLS. Here we go, expected soon.”
With Inter Miami opening the floodgates last year on what MLS teams can do in regards with Designated Player signings, the Galaxy moving for Reus is a sign of the Herons’ growing influence in the division when it comes to recruitment.
And whilst Inter Miami missing out on Reus is a blow, the German superstar heading to the Galaxy and becoming the new face of the franchise could be a more suitable move for all parties, as well as more good news for MLS as a league.

Inter Miami are good on attacking superstars for now
Inter Miami have become the club in MLS for superstar signings since the arrival of Messi last year, yet with Suarez also on their books alongside Julian Gressel and Matias Rojas, the Herons are good on signing more attackers for now.
With central defense clearly the area of the pitch Inter Miami need recruitments in, adding another big-name attacker this summer in Reus would have been viewed by some as too much of a good thing in world-class attackers.
And in Reus joining the Galaxy, the German legend can forge his own legacy in MLS with one of the league’s biggest teams, with California also a dream location for any European player.
