Tata Martino has showered one Inter Miami youngster with praise after his impressive performance last night against the Chicago Fire.
The Herons once again claimed three big points in the race for the MLS Supporters’ Shield, with Matias Rojas and Jordi Alba securing another 2-1 win for Inter Miami, as Robert Taylor thrived on the night for the Florida franchise.
With Lionel Messi making an appearance on the sidelines with a protective boot, it was important for Inter Miami to again show that they can take on the best of what MLS has to offer without their star forward and to come away with all three points.
And Martino was impressed with what he saw from one player last night against Chicago.

Martino in awe with Yannick Bright display in Inter Miami win vs Chicago Fire
Speaking to the press after the game, the Inter Miami manager highlighted how impressed he was with Yannick Bright’s performance for the Herons, with the 22-year-old once again shining in the midfield.
The Italian-born talent has emerged as quite the prospect for Inter Miami this year having been drafted earlier from the University of New Hampshire, and Martino was blown away by Bright’s defensive performance against the Chicago Fire.
Martino said when asked who impressed him against the Chicago Fire: “We have gotten used to those kinds of performances from Drake, those two or three saves that allow us to win games, but I want to also mention Yannick Bright, who, for me, was the best player of the night.
“Yannick is a player who stole as many as 12 balls, I don’t know the exact number, but that is something you don’t see very often in this league. And he rarely commits fouls and typically directs the ball with smart decisions. That is a great attribute for a central midfielder and he understands the game well.”

Bright has shown he has a real future in MLS with the Herons
MLS players signed via the draft have become something of an after thought for most teams in recent years, yet Inter Miami and Bright are showing that the system still has a place in 2024.
The Italian midfielder has been a revelation in central midfield for the Herons, with Bright making 14 appearances and starting the last six games, five of which Inter Miami have won.
Indeed, Bright has proven to be a real bargain signing for Inter Miami, and the midfielder deserves his flowers after a string of impressive performances in a stacked squad for the Herons.
