Lionel Messi has sent a message to Inter Miami after what the Herons put on for the Argentine international this weekend against the Chicago Fire.
The 37-year-old attacker was back at Chase Stadium for the first time since the end of the Copa America, where Messi added to his trophy cabinet with his 45th title for club and country, the most a single player has ever won.
Although Messi was injured in Argentina’s 1-0 final win against Colombia, the mood around Inter Miami has remained a positive one, with the Herons winning six of their last seven games without their club captain.
And Messi has now sent a message to Inter Miami after what the Florida side did this weekend.

Messi applauds Inter Miami for 45th title recognition ceremony
Taking to Instagram, Messi was full of praise for Inter Miami after being honoured by the Herons for his 45th title win, with the MLS side throwing a big ceremony for the Argentine superstar after his Copa America win this summer.
Messi posted about the event: “Thank you so much for the recognition, Inter Miami! It was a pleasure to share this moment with our people on the court.”
Whilst Inter Miami fans might still be in the dark over when Messi will actually return to action, the club putting on a grand event for the forward and showing how loved the forward is in Florida is a good move from the Herons.
Moreover, Messi showing his face so soon after the Copa America win is another encouraging sign that the attacker is keen to return to action, even with the 37-year-old being seen in a protective boot on Saturday.

Messi will be itching to get back on the soccer field this summer
With Messi likely to miss MLS All-Star week and the group stage of Leagues Cup, it could be some time before the attacker is finally back in action for Inter Miami having missed the last seven games already.
Yet with Messi having some time before Inter Miami’s next truly big test at the end of August against FC Cincinnati, the forward knows that he has the time needed to recover and get back up to match fitness.
Indeed, the 37-year-old will be instrumental to Inter Miami in their quest to win MLS Cup and the Supporters’ Shield, and Messi will want to be back on the pitch as soon as possible to help in this goal.
