David Beckham has issued a heartfelt message to Lionel Messi after the Argentine achieved a landmark moment for Inter Miami this week.
The 37-year-old joined the Herons one year ago this month, with Messi transforming the very fabric of soccer in the United States as MLS has hit heights many thought would be impossible had it not been for the former FC Barcelona superstar.
The reigning Ballon d’Or holder, Messi has elevated the sport to a new level, with soccer only growing as the veteran attacker continues to perform for Inter Miami, who currently sit top of the MLS Supporters’ Shield standings.
And Beckham has now sent Messi a message after a landmark moment at Inter Miami.

Beckham lauds Messi one year after Inter Miami debut
Taking to Instagram, Beckham was full of praise for Messi on the one-year anniversary of the forward making his debut for Inter Miami, a game that the Argentine won in the 94th minute with a stunning free-kick against Cruz Azul.
Beckham wrote on the anniversary of Messi’s debut for Inter Miami: “When we wrote ‘Freedom to Dream’ as our club’s motto, this is exactly what we meant. One year since Leo’s debut in the pink of Miami.”
Indeed, Beckham’s ploy to bring Messi to Inter Miami has paid off tenfold, with the Herons one of the most recognizable clubs on the planet and now one of the biggest sports teams in all of America.
And with Messi attracting other stars to join Inter Miami, there’s no telling how far the Florida franchise can go with the 37-year-old in the roster and waving the pink and black flag for all to see.

Messi can take Inter Miami even further in the next few years
One year of Messi in MLS has done more the league than the past 20 years combined, with the American division as popular as it has ever been worldwide with a number of big-name players likely to join the league this summer.
And in the coming years, Mess can take Inter Miami even further, with the Argentine still one of the best forwards in the world and a player who has a massive appeal for other players looking for a new challenge.
The growth of MLS and Inter Miami since Messi’s debut has been incredible, and there’s no telling how far the Herons can grow with the 37-year-old by their side and performing week-in week-out.
