Angel Di Maria could reportedly soon hatch a transfer plan that will see the Inter Miami-linked attacker eventually move to MLS.

The Argentina international is set to leave Benfica at the end of the season having spent just one year with the Portuguese giants, with Di Maria since being linked with a move to Inter Miami this summer.

Whilst Tata Martino himself has ruled out the possibility of the Herons signing Di Maria, rumors have simply refused to go away, with Inter Miami seemingly holding a real interest in the 36-year-old winger.

Yet a plan could soon be about to begin that could lead to Di Maria heading to MLS.

Di Maria set for 2025 MLS move after Inter Miami interest

According to A Bola, Di Maria will return to boyhood club Rosario Central in Argentina this summer, where the veteran attacker will spend six months before moving to MLS at the start of 2025.

Given the timeframe of the transfer to America, there’s a real chance that these specific points could hint towards a move to Inter Miami next year, where the Herons could have the space needed to sign Di Maria.

Indeed, the Florida franchise have the biggest payroll out of any squad in MLS and currently find themselves in a position where they can’t land another superstar signing without some roster moves.

Yet with Di Maria setting a date to move to MLS in 2025, this detail could hint that Inter Miami will soon make the moves needed to free up cap space and to sign the Argentine star ahead of next season.

However, come the start of 2025, another addition might be needed to get the best out of an older Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, and Di Maria could be just the player to do that next year.

Whilst a veteran himself, the 35-year-old has shown he has plenty to give at the highest level, and a move to Inter Miami could now be in the works following this latest transfer update.
