Inter Miami secured one of their biggest wins of the season on Saturday in their 2-0 victory against FC Cincinnati.
The Herons eased past their Ohio rivals to claim all three points in a game that booked Inter Miami’s place in the MLS play-offs, with the Florida franchise also looking good to go all the way and win the Supporters’ Shield.
With two goals from Luis Suarez, the Uruguay international was the star of the show for Inter Miami, with Tata Martino and goalkeeper Drake Callender in awe of what they saw from the 37-year-old striker against Cincinnati.
And Suarez broke an impressive Inter Miami record on the night.

Suarez scored Inter Miami’s fastest-ever goal vs Cincinnati
With Suarez needing just 30 seconds to score the opener against Cincinnati, the former FC Barcelona superstar bagged the fastest goal ever in Inter Miami’s short but interesting history.
Suarez is no stranger to setting the benchmark when it comes to scoring, with the striker forming part of a record-breaking goalscoring trio at Barcelona alongside Lionel Messi and Neymar that is unlikely to be broken anytime soon.
With Suarez also Uruguay’s all-time record goalscorer and one of the few strikers in world soccer to score over 500 professional goals, it seems reasonable that the forward has now added another personal accolade to his collection with Inter Miami.
Indeed, if Suarez can stay fit, there’s no telling what other records the veteran attacker could break at Inter Miami, though it might be some time before another player bests what the 37-year-old managed against Cincinnati.

Suarez is proving to be an incredible signing for the Herons
There were realistic doubts when Suarez signed on how good the striker was going to be for Inter Miami given the physical challenges playing in MLS has on older players.
Yet Suarez is proving to be quite the signing for Inter Miami already, with the striker the club’s leading goalscorer this season and looking like the main man in the attack for the Herons heading into the play-offs.
With all the attention now on wrapping up the Supporters’ Shield, Suarez will want to create more history this year by becoming the club’s all-time leading goalscorer, a feat the Uruguay international could actually achieve if he stays fit.
