Inter Miami maintained their winning run in MLS with a dominate 4-1 win against the Chicago Fire on the road.

Luis Suarez was again in top form as the striker scored another brace to secure the Herons three big points in their quest to win the Supporters’ Shield, with Tata Martino impressed with what he saw from the attacker.

With Martino also confirming that Lionel Messi will back for Inter Miami’s next MLS game, things have never looked better for the Florida franchise, who last weekend qualified for the play-offs with eight games to spare.

And Martino was last night impressed by one Inter Miami youngster’s performance.

Ian Fray praised after Inter Miami win vs Chicago Fire

Speaking to the press, the former Mexico manager was full of praise for Ian Fray, who was again in the starting XI as the right-back enjoyed another good performance in the defense.

The 22-year-old returned from his third successive ACL injury this summer with Fray quickly becoming a useful option at the back for Inter Miami, with the youngster making ten appearances already in all competitions.

And for Martino, the Inter Miami boss is impressed with what he’s seen from Fray, with the defender playing in the center-back position having already played as a right-back this season.

Martino said: “Ian gives us many options, he can play center-back when we play a three or five man back-line, he can play right back when we play with four. He has a huge future. Unfortunately, the injuries had set him back but he feels good now and was able to finish the match Saturday.”

Fray can become an Inter Miami legend

Fray’s story is nothing short of remarkable, with the defender suffering the worse injury a professional athlete can go through three times before the age of 22 and still coming out on top.

With the Florida native becoming a regular for Inter Miami this summer, there’s no telling how far Fray can go with the Herons if he can stay fit and remain motivated to keep giving it his all to push his development further.

And in time, Fray could become a legend with Inter Miami, with the fullback a prospect who can grow and become a real star for the Herons with the defender’s injury problems now seemingly behind him for good.
