Diego Gomez has been strongly linked with a move to Brighton & Hove Albion, with Inter Miami yet to confirm the transfer.
The Paraguay international has emerged as one of the best young prospects in MLS this year with Gomez bagging six goals and seven assists in all competitions for Inter Miami.
With Inter Miami accepting a club-record fee for Gomez from Brighton, there is a big expectation that the midfielder will make the move to the Premier League in the January transfer window once the MLS season is over.
And Gomez has now confirmed whether or not the move is actually happening.

Diego Gomez confirms he will leave Inter Miami for Brighton
Speaking to ABC Deportes, the Inter Miami midfielder confirmed that he will be leaving Florida at the end of this year to join Brighton, with Gomez admitting that he is already talking to his new teammates ahead of the move.
Gomez said when asked about his move to Brighton: “It’s a dream come true for me and for my entire family who have always supported me. I’ve already been talking to Julio Enciso. I always watch Brighton’s games. I really like watching the Premier League.”
With Gomez proving this season he’s way too good for MLS and Inter Miami set to recoup a massive transfer fee for the youngster, all parties will be pleased to see this deal go through in January.
Moreover, for Inter Miami, the success of Gomez could lead the Herons to take on another prospect from South America and to develop them into a top MLS player, with the rewards seemingly worth it.

Gomez will be a huge miss for Inter Miami next year
Gomez has been one of Inter Miami’s most important players this year, with the midfielder proving to be an excellent option in virtually every area of the pitch for Tata Martino’s side.
And for next year, Inter Miami will miss Gomez and his versatility, with the 21-year-old proving to be an incredible source of goals and assists based on his impressive record already this season.
Indeed, Gomez has earned this move to the Premier League, though, and the Paraguay international will want to make Inter Miami proud when he officially joins Brighton next year.
