Kieran Gibbs has shared his reaction after Lionel Messi broke yet another MLS record this weekend in Inter Miami’s 3-3 draw against St. Louis City SC.
The Argentine international has been on a tear this season with Messi enjoying his best soccer yet in an Inter Miami jersey since signing last summer, with the forward breaking numerous records in the process.
Whilst not the outright favorite for the MLS MVP award, Messi’s form has been key for the Herons in keeping their Supporters’ Shield title bid alive, with goals from Luis Suarez and Matias Rojas also helping.
And former defender Gibbs has now given his verdict on Messi’s latest record-breaking achievement.

Messi showered with praise after latest Inter Miami record-breaking performance
Speaking on the Inter Miami Weekly Show, Gibbs lauded Messi after the Argentine became the fastest player in MLS history to register 25 goal contributions in a single season.
A record previously held by Carlos Vela, Messi is on course to break seemingly every record out there in MLS, and there’s a real chance that the attacker could do just that if he can stay fit enough this year.
Gibbs said on Messi breaking yet another MLS record: “I’m not sure why we expected any less from the guy. He really is that guy, he was born to break records, he set the standard for world football and it’s just amazing to have him here.
“How many moments has he given us in this short space of time of him being here. Priceless moments, what a player, it’s a joy to watch and talk about him every week.”

Messi will want to break every single MLS record possible this season
Messi’s entire career can be told by the records the Argentine international has broken throughout the years, and the forward isn’t going to stop so easily now that he’s in MLS.
The 36-year-old has shown that he still has the quality to produce moments of sheet magic that can leave fans and pundits speechless, and Messi will want to keep breaking records at Inter Miami.
Indeed, Messi is here for good, and the former FC Barcelona superstar will want to do all he can to break every record possible and to lead Inter Miami to silverware.
