'Very difficult': Sergio Busquets shares honest verdict on Inter Miami facing the Columbus Crew

Inter Miami face arguably their biggest test in some time this evening when the Herons take on the Columbus Crew.

Wilfried Nancy’s side are regarded by many as one of the best teams in MLS, with Inter Miami manager Tata Martino even saying as much when comparing the crew to his own squad.

With Inter Miami one win away from the Supporters’ Shield title, three tonights tonight will open the door to history for the Florida franchise, who are still on a mission to break the regular season points record in MLS.

And star midfielder Sergio Busquets has now given his honest verdict on what he expects from the Crew later today.

Busquets expecting Columbus Crew to give Inter Miami ‘a very difficult game’

Speaking to the press ahead of tonight’s massive MLS clash, Busquets revealed he is expecting a ‘very difficult game’ against Columbus Crew, who are still in the Supporters’ Shield race despite the huge points difference.

With Inter Miami losing to the reigning MLS Cup champions in Leagues Cup this summer, the Herons will want their revenge against the Ohio franchise, with tonight’s game a potential tease for what’s to come in the play-offs.

And Busquets expects this evening’s fixture to be a hard one, with he former FC Barcelona superstar saying about the tie: “Hopefully, we can clinch it, but we have a very difficult game on Wednesday.

“It has been our goal all season to win the Supporters’ Shield and then the playoffs. It’s a different format than what we were used to in Europe, but here in the United States it’s like this, so we must adapt.”

Inter Miami will need to be at their absolute best tonight

Inter Miami have the best record in MLS this season, with the Herons showing throughout the year with or without Messi will they will go down as one of the best teams the division has ever seen.

And with a blockbuster tie coming up tonight, Inter Miami will want to show why they’re the best team in MLS with a statement performance and result against the Columbus Crew, who themselves will be on a mission.

Indeed, tonight’s game promises to be one for the ages for MLS fans, and Busquets and company will want to put on a show for Inter Miami supporters in what could be a night to remember for the Herons.
