Lionel Messi made a blockbuster move to Inter Miami last summer, with the Argentine rejecting a move to Saudi Arabia to make the transfer happen.

Messi reportedly turned down a contract offer worth $1.5bn from the Middle Eastern state to make the move to MLS with Inter Miami, where the attacker has since become the headline player for the entire league and for soccer as a whole in the United States.

Although Messi’s game time has been limited due to injuries and international commitments, all signs seem to suggest that the Argentine international is enjoying life at Chase Stadium, where the forward has already won the Supporters’ Shield.

And Messi’s wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, has now shared how she feels about to move to Miami.

Messi and his family in love with Inter Miami and Florida

Speaking to Haute Living, Messi’s partner talked about how much she and the Messi family are enjoying life in Florida, with the former PSG star seemingly making the right move to sign for Inter Miami last summer.

Roccuzzo said when asked what she loves most about Messi playing for Inter Miami: “What I love the most about Miami is the climate, the people, and the landscape. All this makes you feel like you’re living in perpetual summer.

“The biggest surprise for us was the warm welcome we received when we arrived. We knew it would be special, but it exceeded all our expectations. It has actually been very easy [adapting to life in Miami], and we’re all happy about it.

“Our main concern was that the kids might not like it or adjust well, but from day one, they adapted very well.”

Messi made the right call to head to the United States

Even though Messi is still one of the best players on the planet, the 37-year-old is at a stage in his career where he needed to find a club where he can settle down for more than sporting reasons.

And Inter Miami have provided that and then some for Messi and his family, with the Argentine international finding his dream team to play out the final days of his career.

Indeed, Messi made the right call in heading to the United States, and Inter Miami are the dream final club for the reigning Ballon d’Or holder to play out his final years, with the forward’s family seemingly loving life in Florida already.
