Suarez names Inter Miami’s Alba as ‘the best left-back in the world’
Speaking to ESPN, the 37-year-old striker hailed his defensive teammates as ‘the best left-back in the world’ after Alba’s match-winning performance for Inter Miami last Friday against Atlanta United in the MLS play-offs.
Suarez said when asked about Alba’s performance last week: “He is the best left-back in the world. Wherever he is, he will always be the best in his position. It is a pleasure to play and train with him every day.”
With Inter Miami manager Tata Martino also lauding Alba as one of the best in the world, the veteran defender is showing this year that he is still a top performer in his position despite now playing in MLS.
And with Alba one of Inter Miami’s best players this season, the former Spain international could play a huge role in getting the Herons’ across the line in MLS Cup having already won the Supporters’ Shield.

With 20 goal contributions in all competitions, Alba is producing numbers this year for Inter Miami that most top-level wingers would be proud of, let alone a fullback in his mid-thirties.
