The transfer window is still one month away from opening, yet early signs suggest Inter Miami are in for a demanding January market.
Javier Mascherano was this week unveiled as the new Herons manager, with the Argentine coach having a big job on his hands in his first role on the touchline for a club with Inter Miami supporters expecting success next year.
And current transfer rumors seem to indicate that the Florida franchise will be spending big, with Mascherano keen on signing Angel Di Maria with Inter Miami also interested in recruiting Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah.
And a former Premier League player has now emerged on Inter Miami’s radar.

Inter Miami interested in former West Ham maestro Manuel Lanzini
According to Pasio Futbol, Inter Miami are keeping tabs on River Plate attacking midfielder Manuel Lanzini, with the former West Ham star set to leave the Argentine giants at the end of this month.
A former international teammate of Lionel Messi’s, Lanzini has a big reputation from his time at West Ham where the silky attacking midfielder earned cult hero status with the east London side, with the Argentine spending seven successful years with the Irons.
Now back in South America with boyhood club River Plate, Lanzini could soon take his talents to MLS and Inter Miami, with Mascherano seemingly keen on signing the 31-year-old as part of the Argentine coach’s rebuild of the Herons.
And with Lanzini set to become a free-agent in the coming weeks, Inter Miami could have the chance to sign a big-name player for good value if the attacking midfielder is sold on the idea of moving to Florida, where the chance to play alongside Messi again could be tempting for the former Premier League star.

Lanzini could be a great cost-effective signing for the Herons
With Inter Miami linked with some big names like Colombia superstar James Rodriguez, the Herons need to be smart with how they spend their money this January and deciding which targets could become a potential third Designated Player.
Which is why Lanzini would be such a smart signing for Inter Miami, with the former Argentina international unlikely to make huge salary demands despite having quite an impressive resume with both West Ham and River Plate.
Indeed, Lanzini is good enough to become a real star player in MLS at Inter Miami, and the Florida franchise would be wise to explore a deal for the former Premier League star once his contract with River Plate comes to an end.
