Inter Miami are in the market for a big-name signing in January, and Neymar could be the player the Herons end up landing.
The Brazil international has been rumored with a move to the Florida franchise for quite some time, with Neymar keen on joining Inter Miami to reunite with former FC Barcelona attackers Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
With Inter Miami owner Jorge Mas also publically stating his interest in signing Neymar for the Herons, a deal could well be made in the coming weeks if the right financial agreements can be reached with Al-Hilal for the winger.
And Inter Miami have now been handed a big boost in their bid to sign Neymar.

Al-Hilal yet to open contract talks with Neymar
Speaking on Al Arabiya FM journalist Abdullah Al-Hanayan, Al-Hilal are yet to initiate talks with Neymar or his team on signing a new contract, with the Brazilian’s current deal with the Saudi Arabians due to expire at the end of this season.
Al-Hanayan said: “According to the information I have, the subject has not been raised yet, although Neymar’s renewal is very possible, especially with how important Neymar is to Al-Hilal away from the field. It is possible he will renew his contract for a third year, but Neymar’s return to Al-Hial’s roster is still in doubt.”
Although Neymar recently said he wants to play at the FIFA Club World Cup with Al-Hilal, the former PSG star’s future with the Middle Eastern club appears to be everchanging, with Inter Miami now seemingly back in the race for the attacker.
And with Neymar keen to reunite with Messi and Suarez, this latest contract update could lead to Inter Miami making a renewed attempt to sign the 32-year-old winger, who seems open to making the move to Florida.

How good was Neymar alongside Inter Miami stars Messi and Suarez?
The legendary MSN (Messi, Suarez and Neymar) attacking trio at Barcelona is perhaps the greatest front-three world soccer has ever seen, with the forwards inspiring the Catalan trio to every piece of silverware imaginable during their three seasons together.
Season | Total no. of goals | Lionel Messi | Luis Suarez | Neymar |
2016/17 | 110 | 54 | 36 | 20 |
2015/16 | 131 | 41 | 59 | 31 |
2014/15 | 122 | 58 | 25 | 39 |
And as per the numbers above, the iconic attacking trident dominated the goalscoring charts in their three mesmerizing years leading the line for Barcelona, with Messi, Suarez and Neymar combining for 363 goals across 450 matches in all competitions.
Indeed, Neymar joining Inter Miami and once again completing the MSN front-line could make the Herons unstoppable in MLS, and the Florida franchise need to do all they can to make the deal for the Brazilian possible.
