Inter Miami have become a top destination for a number of South American players after last year’s arrival of Lionel Messi.
The Argentine international’s reputation in the game and his worldwide appeal has allowed Inter Miami to bring in an incredible amount of quality in the last 18 months, with the upcoming January transfer window expected to be no different.
With Neymar on Inter Miami’s radar and Javier Mascherano interested in signing Angel Di Maria, there’s a real chance that a big-name player could be heading to Chase Stadium next month, with the Herons eager to build a squad that can challenge for the FIFA Club World Cup next summer.
And one Argentina wonderkid rumored with a move to Inter Miami could now be ready to leave his club.

Inter Miami target Cristian Medina ‘likely to leave’ Boca Juniors
According to Boca Noticias, Boca Juniors midfielder Cristian Medina is ‘likely to leave’ in the January transfer window, with Inter Miami interested in signing the Argentina youth international next month.
A youngster who has trained with Messi with Argentina’s senior squad, Medina was once regarded as one of the most exciting talents in all of South America having broke into Boca’s first-team as a teenager.
However, things have not gone to plan for the 21-year-old, with Medina actually rumored with a move to Inter Miami earlier this year before the Herons settled on signing fellow Argentine youth international Federico Redondo.
Yet with Medina now likely to leave Boca and Inter Miami in the market for a new midfielder, the 22-year-old could be ready for a move to Florida at long last, with Mascherano someone who has worked with the youngster before.

What other young players have Inter Miami been linked with?
With Mascherano spending two years with Argentina’s youth set-up before joining Inter Miami, there’s a good chance that the Herons could look to their new manager’s former players as a source of inspiration for new transfers.
And the market seems to be heading in that direction, with Inter Miami linked with FC Barcelona youngster Pablo Torre with Boca winger Milton Delgado also on the radar for the Herons.
Medina returning as a target is perhaps no real surprise for Inter Miami, and with the squad already one of the youngest in MLS, the Herons adding more youth to the roster could be an exciting sign of what’s to come in the future.
