Javier Mascherano will enter 2025 looking to make his mark in Vice City, following his appointment as Inter Miami head coach.

Having stormed their way to the Supporters’ Shield with a record points tally, Mascherano arguably won’t have to change much at the Chase Stadium.

One factor the Argentine will be looking to improve however is Inter Miami’s leaky defense, as despite topping the MLS scoring charts, the Herons conceded 49 goals during the regular season.

Mascherano will be hoping to better that tally in 2025 and he is reportedly earmarked one defensive target to do that – with Inter Miami eyeing a move for Kevin Lomonaco.

Not much is known about Lomonaco outside of South America, so Inter Miami News thought it would be worthwhile taking a closer look at the Herons transfer target.
