It is no secret that Inter Miami are looking to bring in a striker to help lighten the burden on Luis Suarez, and they may have found their man.
New manager Javier Mascherano has yet to make an official Inter Miami signing since taking over the managerial role.
The club have added two players from the MLS SuperDraft Bailey Sparks and Michael Appiah, but no other players have been purchased.
Leo Campana’s sale to the New England Revolution shocked many Herons fans as it now leaves the club with just Suarez as a central striker, Appiah is a striker but at the age of 18, it is unlikely he will be thrown in straight away.
However, it now appears that the club have found their top target to help ease the goalscoring pressure on Suarez and Messi.

Argentinian striker Alexis Cuello becomes top target
While Inter Miami have been linked with several attacking talents since the end of the MLS season the likes of Neymar and Mo Salah were always going to be tricky to complete deals for.
Following the sale of Campana, the club needs a quick purchase with the season less than two months away now. The Herons face New York City FC in their opening game.
Since Mascherano has been in charge the club have been linked with a number of Argentinians and Cuello is no different.
It appears Mascherano sees something in the youngster with with journalist Uriel Lugt reporting that the club has opened formal negotiations for Cuello.
The 24-year-old striker is currently with Argentinian club side San Lorenzo where he has been far from prolific.
In just under 100 senior appearances in his career, he has just 18 goals to his name, hardly potent for a striker.

Inter Miami have other attacking targets
While a move for Cuello appears more advanced than most reported striker rumors it is by no means a done deal.
Inter Miami are closely linked with Tadeo Allende of Celta Vigo. The Argentine striker is highly-rated and a number of clubs across Spain and Brazil are lining up for his signature.
Another reported target Antoine Griezmann is said to favor Los Angeles FC, rather than teaming up with his former Barcelona teammates in Miami.
There is no doubt that a backup striker to Suarez is needed though as the sides’ third top scorer in the MLS last season, Campana, has now moved on.
Outside of Messi and Suarez, the club didn’t have a player with more than eight goals in the MLS last campaign.
