Inter Miami are starting to make some serious moves to strengthen their side ahead of the new MLS season, one Colo-Colo star is in their sights.
Javier Mascherano took his time to make any signings in his new role as Inter Miami manager but the Herons have acquired Fafa Picault in recent days.
The Herons recently said goodbye to defender Nicolas Freire and are seeking new defensive reinforcements.
Colo-Colo star Maximiliano Falcon appears high on the list for Mascherano.
Inter Miami face a tough New York City FC side in their opening game, the side has scored goals for fun against the Miami defense in recent times and Falcon could help combat this.

Vidal doesn’t ‘understand’ Falcon no-show
Inter Miami put in an opening bid for Falcon which was rejected, but the star has not shown up for the start of Colo Colo’s preseason.
The 27-year-old centreback played a major role in the club’s championship success last season where they conceded just 21 goals in 30 league games.
Former Barcelona star Arturo Vidal was asked about Falcon’s absence and the star did not want to give much away.
Speaking to the media, he said: “Look, you know the truth, I knew they were going to ask me that. That’s a subject we know nothing about.
“Here we have to ask the president, Maxi, directly why he is not here. I don’t understand, I don’t understand and the truth is that I don’t want to get into that issue.”

Colo-Colo coach looking to ‘resolve’ Falcon issues
After nearly five years at Colo-Colo, Falcon is now ready for a new chapter in his career, with the defender pushing for a move this January having deliberately missed training this week after Inter Miami’s opening bid was rejected.
While Falcon may see his Colo-Colo career as over the team’s coach, Argentine Jorge Almirón, said: “He is a foreigner, a very important player for the team, for the people, a reference for the entire club, but it can be resolved.”
Inter Miami are closing in on San Lorenzo defender Gonzalo Lujan and it appears Mascherano has highlighted the defence as a weak area for the team.
Former Barcelona star Marc Bartra has also been linked with Inter Miami who will be looking to provide Mascherano the MLS Cup in his first season.
