Inter Miami have made signing a defender their priority this summer, with the Herons making numerous offers for some exciting names.
Venezuela international Nahuel Ferraresi has emerged as a target for Inter Miami whilst Javier Mascherano’s side are set to sign Gonzalo Lujan from Argentina side San Lorenzo for around $800,000.
Another player who Inter Miami have been linked with is Maximiliano Falcon, with Chile legend Arturo Vidal unaware of what the Colo-Colo star’s intensions are this January after missing training following a rumored bid from the MLS side.
Yet Inter Miami’s stance on Falcon appears to have changed overnight.

Inter Miami drop interest in signing Maximiliano Falcon
According to La Cuarta, Inter Miami are now no longer interested in signing Maximiliano Falcon, with the Herons already moving on to other targets after Colo-Colo rejected their first bid for the 27-year-old defender.
Given how many defenders Inter Miami have been linked with this January and how much Mascherano’s side could realistically have to play this month in regards to improving the squad, moving on from Falcon is an interesting move from the Herons.
Indeed, Falcon has been a regular for Colo-Colo for some time now, with the defender key to the Chilean side’s impressive run to the Copa Libertadores quarter-finals last year, with the center-back scoring the key goal in the round-of-16 series.
Yet for Inter Miami, dropping interest in Falcon could be a hint that a big defensive move is in the works, with Mascherano more than aware that the Chase Stadium side need one or even two new additions to challenge next season.

What has Mascherano said about Inter Miami signings?
Rumors have been intense surrounding Inter Miami’s potential dealings this January, with Mascherano aware that the pressure is on to make the right transfers this month ahead of an exciting 2025 season.
And the Argentina coach has admitted that the Herons need new signings if they’re to compete this year, with Mascherano promising new additions for Inter Miami in the coming weeks as the reigning Supporters’ Shield holders begin pre-season preparations.
Whilst Falcon might no longer be a target for the Florida franchise, there’s still time for Mascherano and his team to make a number of signings, with Neymar one player who Inter Miami are interested in signing this January..
