Real Madrid superstar Luka Modric has said a decision has been made on his future amid ongoing links to Inter Miami.
The 38-year-old midfielder’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season, with current rumors suggesting that Modric will extend his deal with Madrid in what might be the final transfer decision of his career.
Despite this, links to Inter Miami have persisted, with the Herons still holding an interest in signing Modric and adding to their growing list of superstar names in their quest to win this year’s MLS Cup.
And the midfielder has now addressed what his future has in store for him.

Modric teases decision but seemingly rules out Inter Miami move
Speaking to El Partidazo de COPE, Modric said a decision has been made on his future, with the veteran playmaker hinting that he wants to remain with Madrid without clearly stating what his intention is this summer.
Citing Toni Kroos’ recent departure from Madrid and football in general, all signs seemingly point towards Modric signing a new contract with Los Blancos, where the Croatian could win his sixth UEFA Champions League title this weekend.
Indeed, Modric has had an incredible career with the Spanish giants, and it’s understandable why the midfielder would want to end his career in Madrid rather than heading out to the United States with Inter Miami.
Modric said when asked about his future: “The decision on my future is made but I can’t tell you yet. I have always said I want to retire at Real Madrid, this is what I really want, This would be a dream, this is my home, the club of my life. I want a farewell like Toni Kroos.”

Inter Miami must move on to other targets this summer
The signing of Modric was always going to be unrealistic one for Inter Miami this summer given their current salary cap and their need for players in other positions in the roster.
And this latest update should put the nail in the coffin for Inter Miami in their small chance of landing Modric, who now looks set to stay at Madrid until he retires in the coming years.
Whilst the veteran would have been exceptional in MLS, few Inter Miami fans will be mad that Modric isn’t heading to Florida, especially with the Herons in need of signings beyond the midfield.
