Inter Miami are in the first chapter of a new era under Javier Mascherano, with exciting things on the horizon for the Florida franchise.

The squad is currently preparing for their first pre-season friendly against Club America this week, with the Herons some good moves already in the transfer market from MLS veteran Fafa Picault to Celta Vigo winger Tadeo Allende on loan.

With Inter Miami close to signing Maximiliano Falcon from Colo-Colo as well as Casa Pia midfielder Telasco Segovia, the squad is starting to look a lot more fleshed out heading into the first games of pre-season.

And Mascherano is seemingly interested in signing one of his former Argentina youth stars.

Inter Miami interested in River Plate winger Pablo Solari

According to Jonathan Riniti, Inter Miami have joined the race to sign River Plate youngster Pablo Solari, with the 23-year-old attacker one of the many players to feature for Mascherano at youth level for Argentina.

Riniti said when discussing Inter Miami’s interest in the Argentina youngster: “We know that Solari wants a change of scenery and he is analyzing different offers. One that has come in recently is from Mascherano’s Inter Miami.

“Mascherano knows him from working with the Argentina national teams with the U-23s, and he now appears to be a target for Inter Miami. We know that Miami are looking for reinforcements, and one that is now in the folder is Solari.”

Noted by Total Football Analysis as a ‘dynamic’ winger, Solari could be a perfect attacking signing for Inter Miami, especially with the youngster already working with Mascherano and impressing greatly last season with River Plate as the attacker scored ten goals and registered five assists in all competitions.

Who else could Inter Miami sign in the January transfer window?

With two signings confirmed and two more in the pipeline, things are moving quickly for Inter Miami in the January transfer window ahead of the start of the new MLS season next month, where the Herons will be favorites for the championship.

And the Florida franchise might not stop at four signings, with Neymar still linked with a move to Inter Miami as Mascherano must weigh up who to target for the Herons’ third and final Desginated Player spot.

Indeed, a big signing could be in the works for Inter Miami in the coming weeks, and supporters should be braced for a surprise or two in the market as the 2025 MLS season slowly creeps up on Mascherano and his team.
