Inter Miami have been linked with a number of big-name players this January, with Javier Mascherano seemingly keen on making a blockbuster signing.

The Herons have been rumored with some huge figures in the world of soccer following the opening of the January transfer window with Angel Di Maria believed to be on Inter Maimi’s radar as well as Argentina international Paulo Dybala.

With Neymar set to snub Inter Miami for Santos, the search continues for the Florida franchise, who heading into the 2025 MLS season have a Designated Player spot open after the sale of Leonardo Campana to the New England Revolution.

And one player who could be signed is former Brazil international Hulk, who has now made his intentions clear on if he would one day sign for Inter Miami.

Hulk says he would be open to Inter Miami transfer

Speaking to CNN Deportes, the 38-year-old attacker said he would be open to making the move to Florida and one day playing in the United States, with Hulk a former international teammate and attacking partner of Neymar’s.

Hulk said when asked about a move to MLS: “Without a doubt, having the opportunity to work and combine business with pleasure, and living in the United States for the lifestyle, the safety, for everything, that’s really cool. It’s a country that gives you a lot.”

With Inter Miami in the market for a new attacker, Hulk could be an interesting option for Mascherano’s side, with the veteran forward a regular for Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro despite turning 39 later this summer.

Indeed, 19 goals and 13 assists in all competitions last year is quite a record for Hulk, and with the Herons interested in adding to Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez in the forward ranks, the former Brazilian international could be a smart signing for the Herons this January.

What else did Hulk say about his future?

Hulk might seem eager to make a move to Inter Miami this month, but a transfer to MLS might take some time to get off the ground, with the striker’s contract with Atletico Mineiro not expiring until the end of 2026, where the forward will be 40-years-old.

Moreover, Hulk also detailed how he is enjoying his time with the Brazilian giants, something that could postpone a move to Inter Miami MLS until 2027 at the earliest when the veteran becomes a free-agent after leaving Atletico Mineiro.

Hulk said: “I have two more years on my contract with Galo, but I love playing football. If God allows me to play for many more years, I will continue to play, but I will do so at a high level. When I can no longer keep up with the boys, then it will be better to retire.”
