Javier Mascherano may be off to the perfect start as Inter Miami manager in pre-season but tougher tasks are certainly ahead.
The Herons are currently unbeaten in their pre-season as they look to prepare to defend their Supporters Shield trophy which they secured last season.
During the offseason, the Herons have signed Tadeo Allende, Telasco Segovia and Maxi Falcon to name a few. They will all certainly be needed ahead of a busy 2025 schedule.
All will play a part in the team’s Leagues Cup debut, which has seen Inter Miami handed a tough group.

Herons set to face Mexican giants
With Inter Miami already set to make their much anticipated FIFA Club World Cup debut they also have the Leagues Cup to look forward to.
Superstar Lionel Messi will be looking to add yet another new trophy to his ever-growing trophy cabinet but it won’t be simple given the draw.
The Herons will face:
- Wednesday, July 30: Inter Miami CF vs. Atlas F.C at Chase Stadium
- Saturday, August 2: Inter Miami CF vs. Club Necaxa at Chase Stadium
- Wednesday, August 6: Inter Miami CF vs. Pumas UNAM at Chase Stadium
The draw will certainly bring the best out of Messi and co who will be looking to clinch a second Leagues Cup trophy given their 2023 success.

Inter Miami’s previous Leagues Cup results
The Herons will be excited to have another crack at the Leagues Cup given their slight failure in the 2024 edition of the tournament.
After defeating Toronto FC 4-3 in a Round of 32 thriller the Herons met their match as they were knocked out in the Round of 16 by the Colombus Crew in a 3-2 defeat.
The side will certainly be looking to get back to the form of 2023 which saw them win the tournament defeating Nashville SC 9-10 on penalties following a 1-1 draw.
Messi scored in the final, as did Inter Miami’s new boy Fafa Picault.
