Diego Gomez has shared one of his dreams heading into this summer that could be a cause of worry for Inter Miami.
The 21-year-old midfielder is set for a huge few months with Gomez now finally back from injury after missing the last two months due to an ankle problem, with the youngster’s return coinciding with transfer interest from the Premier League.
Inter Miami have placed a reported $25m asking price on Gomez’s head, with Brighton & Hove Albion and West Ham both keen on signing the Paraguay international this summer, who is now also set to represent his national team at the 2024 Olympics.
And Gomez has now shared one of his dreams this summer.

Gomez keen to go far in the Olympics despite Inter Miami fixtures
Speaking to Inter Miami’s official website, Gomez shared his ‘dream’ of going as far as possible with Paraguay at this summer’s Olympics, something that could cause problems for Inter Miami given their heavy fixture schedule.
Like with the Copa America with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, the Herons are set to lose key players to the Olympics in Gomez and Benjamin Cremaschi, and the Paraguay star seems intent on going far in the competition.
Gomez said on making Paraguay’s Olympic squad: “I’m very happy to be selected, to be there helping the team. After a lot of effort, we achieved a very important qualification for the country. I feel very happy and very proud because of that.
“What excites me the most is being able to represent my country in a very important tournament for the first time. The goal is to be able to go as far as possible with my country, and as always, representing my country is a very great pride.”

Gomez’s absence could be a huge problem for the Herons this summer
With Gomez and Cremaschi set to miss a good chunk of the summer due to Olympic commitments, Inter Miami could face a big problem with two of their star youngsters missing from action.
Not only are Gomez and Cremaschi regulars for the Herons, the duo provides crucial cover for the older players in the squad when needed, a factor that has made the two as important as a Messi or Suarez.
Indeed, Inter Miami could be fine without Gomez this summer given their midfield options the Florida franchise have, but the 21-year-old going far in the Olympics could become an issue the longer it goes on.
