A journalist has shared what Lionel Messi did this morning in Inter Miami training ahead of Saturday’s Leagues Cup tie with Tigres.
The Argentine superstar has missed the last three Inter Miami fixtures, after Messi was injured in the Copa America final, with the Herons winning seven of their last eight games without the 37-year-old attacker.
With Luis Suarez also suffering from injury, Inter Miami have once again been hit with fitness problems that have plagued the squad the entire year, though that hasn’t stopped Tata Martino’s side from reaching top spot in the Supporters’ Shield race.
And there is now an update on Messi’s fitness ahead of Saturday’s game.

Messi somewhat involved in Inter Miami training
According to journalist Jose Armando, Messi missed out on the first part of Inter Miami training this morning, indicating that the forward might feature earlier in the day for the Herons in practice.
Armando wrote: “Lionel Messi was absent in the first part of training this morning. Suarez, Busquets and Alba trained without incident. Sergii Kryvtsov is back working with his teammates.”
Whilst there is no official news on if Messi will feature on this weekend against Tigres, news that the forward is in training in some capacity will be encouraging for Inter Miami supporters.
Indeed, Messi has not played a club game for almost two months, and with the Florida side in such good form, adding a player as good as the Argentine back into the squad could make the MLS front-runners impossible to beat in Leagues Cup.

Messi returning next month could be huge for the Herons
Inter Miami have somehow weathered the storm without Messi in some fashion, with the Herons looking as good as they ever have whilst missing their superstar forward due to injury and the Copa America.
And if Messi returns next month, there’s a real chance that Inter Miami could go one step beyond their current form, with the Florida franchise already looking unbeatable.
News that Messi is close to a return will be big for supporters, and rival teams will also be worried about what’s to come once the 37-year-old is back on the pitch for Inter Miami.
