Inter Miami are reportedly lending a hand to a European team in their bid to sign a top transfer target this summer.

Multi-club models are seemingly all the rage in soccer, with Manchester City’s City Football Group and RB Leipzig’s Red Bull GmbH the two leading examples, with Inter Miami regularly facing such a club in New York City FC.

Whilst the Herons aren’t involved in such a model, managing owner Jorge Mas is also president of Spanish side Real Zaragoza, with links between the two clubs growing steadily, as Raul Sanllehi recently joined Inter Miami from the Segunda Division side.

And Inter Miami are now seemingly giving Zaragoza an assist in their bid to sign a player.

Inter Miami aiding Zaragoza in bid to sign Ager Aketxe

According to Heraldo de Aragon, Inter Miami are giving Zaragoza a hand in signing former SD Eibar playmaker Ager Aketxe, with Mas playing a key role in trying to sign the ‘fantastic’ midfielder.

In a move that is rare even between clubs operating under the same ownership, Inter Miami and Zaragoza will used their collective power in the boardroom to try and bring Aketxe to the second-tier Spanish side.

A regular in the Segunda Division, Aketxe will be a top signing for Zaragoza if the Spanish side and Inter Miami can work their way to an agreement with the 30-year-old, who is currently a free agent having left Eiba this summer.

Indeed, Inter Miami using their influence to help Zaragoza in signing Aketxe is unusual, yet the deal being completed could help the Herons long-term, especially when it comes to bringing in more players from Europe.

Inter Miami could benefit big time in helping Zaragoza this summer

Inter Miami have mainly focused on the South American market when it comes to make signings to compliment the likes of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, with the Florida franchise’s latest addition, David Martinez, coming from River Plate.

Yet Inter Miami helping out Zaragoza in their bid to sign Aketxe could prove to be a huge moment for the Herons in the years to come, as it could open the door for Tata Martino to bring in top players from Europe.

With the South American market conquered, a move to Europe could be in Inter Miami’s future, and signing players from some of the biggest leagues in soccer could be a step in the right direction for the Herons.
