Diego Gomez has been one of the breakout stars in MLS this year, and the Inter Miami midfielder’s form has been rewarded with a move to Brighton & Hove Albion.
Inter Miami have agreed to sell Gomez to Brighton for a club-record fee that will see the Paraguay international join the Premier League side in the January transfer window after the end of the 2024 MLS season.
With Inter Miami coming away as big winners from the sale of Gomez, the midfielder now has all the tools to further his development and to make himself as ready as possible for his switch to the biggest league in soccer in January.
And Brighton’s coaches seemingly have a plan in mind for what to do with Gomez already.

Gomez set for immediate minutes with Brighton after Inter Miami exit
According to AS, Gomez is set to become an immediate part of the Brighton first-team once through the door in January, with Seagulls coaches confident that the midfielder can make the leap from MLS to the Premier League.
The English top-flight have seen a number of MLS graduates flourish after making the move from America to England from Miguel Almiron to Jack Harrison to Matt Turner, with Gomez likely to join this list of top players.
Indeed, it’s clear that Brighton are impressed with what Gomez has to offer and the potential the midfielder could hit if given the time and the right development plan to hit that next level on the British south coast.
And with Gomez showing this season why he is as highly rated as he is, the 21-year-old will be eager to get going with Brighton next year, with the Premier League a logical next step for the Paraguay international.

Gomez could be the first of many Inter Miami talents to head to Europe
Although Gomez is one of the Inter Miami’s best players, the midfielder is far from the only talented prospect the Herons have on their books for the 2024 season.
Federico Redondo, Benjamin Cremasichi and Tomas Aviles are an Inter Miami trio who could all head to Europe in the next 18 to 24 months if their development continues at its current pace.
And with Gomez setting the benchmark for how high an Inter Miami player can aim, every youngster currently with the Florida franchise will be hoping they can win a move to Europe in the years to come.
