Diego Gomez is set to leave Inter Miami for Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion.
Inter Miami agreed a club-record sale with Brighton that will see Gomez join up with the Seagulls in the January transfer window, with the 21-year-old Paraguay international set to remain in Florida until the 2024 MLS season is over.
With Gomez a key part of Inter Miami’s quest to win this year’s MLS Cup, the decision to keep the midfielder at Chase Stadium until January is one that could have a huge impact on Tata Martino’s hopes of winning a second ever MLS Cup.

Speaking to ABC Cardinal, Gomez’s agent, Renato Bittar, confirmed that the midfielder’s move to Brighton will be officially announced in the January transfer window, with no news set to be made from either club until then.
Bittar said when asked when Gomez’s move to Brighton will be announced: “Everything is already in place with Diego Gomez, he will be officially introduced in the Premier League in January.”
With clarification now out there on when Gomez’s will be officially unveiled as a new Brighton player, Inter Miami fans can now start focusing on the Paraguay international firing the Herons to success in MLS Cup and the Supporters’ Shield.
