Inter Miami head into their final regular-season game on Saturday, with the MLS play-offs almost upon us.
The Herons have been the best team in MLS this year with Inter Miami winning the Supporters’ Shield earlier this month with Tata Martino’s side in with a chance of setting a new regular-season points record if they beat the New England Revolution on the weekend.
With Lionel Messi in top form after the international break, Inter Miami should be considered strong favorites for MLS Cup with the Florida franchise now having the greatest player in history back at the top of his game.
Yet Kieran Gibbs has suggested one thing that could unravel Inter Miami in the post-season.

Inter Miami warned their discipline could cause problems in the play-offs
Speaking on the Inter Miami Weekly Show, the former Arsenal defender noted how Inter Miami’s poor discipline record could lead to the Herons struggling in the play-offs, with the Herons letting emotions get to them this season.
Gibbs said when asked what challenges Inter Miami could face in the post-season: “I’ve said it countless times this season, the only Achilles heel Miami are going to have is discipline and emotion.
“We know emotions run high, especially with the season they’ve been having, the players we have, everyone wants to make an impact and to show what they’re worth to the team.
“But there’s definitely a fine line, so it has to be reminded by Tata at all times, even at half-time during games, you have to keep your head cool and to not let your heart rule your head.”

Inter Miami need to keep their cool in the remaining fixtures
Inter Miami have been outstanding this year, yet their discipline has been a major issue, with the Herons leading the yellow card and red card charts in MLS after a number of offences.
And heading into the play-offs, Inter Miami can’t afford to lose key players to suspension, even with the Florida franchise having one of the biggest squads in MLS.
Indeed, Inter Miami need to remain calm and composed in their upcoming play-off fixtures, and players with poor disciplinary records need to keep their emotions in check if they’re to make it all the way in the post-season.
