Inter Miami have broken numerous records this season, and one big one is now on the line ahead of Saturday’s MLS clash with the New England Revolution.
The Herons are one win away from setting a new regular-season points record in MLS, an achievement currently held by the Revolution, who will be up for this weekend’s tie despite having nothing to play for in terms of play-off qualification.
With New England defender Dave Romney stating how the Revs are up to deny Inter Miami from making history, the Herons could be in for a tough game at Chase Stadium even with Lionel Messi coming off the back of a stellar performance for Argentina.
And Revolution manager Caleb Porter has now shared his thoughts about taking on Inter Miami.

Caleb Porter looking to make history ‘one way or another’ on Saturday
Speaking to the New England Revolution’s official website, the two-time MLS Cup winner shared how he is looking forward to potentially making history with the Boston-based franchise if they’re able to stop Inter Miami from winning.
The Herons will need all three points if they’re to set the MLS regular-season points record, and Porter will be intent on stopping Inter Miami from doing just in what will be a huge game for both sides.
Porter said: “We’re going to be part of history one way or another, we’re either going to be part of their history in winning the highest point total in a season, or we’re going to stop that from happening, which is what our goal is.
“Obviously, it won’t be easy, but we owe it to the 2021 team that set that record to do everything we can to not let that record be taken.”

Inter Miami need to go all out against the New England Revolution
Inter Miami know the pressure will be on heading into Saturday’s game, with the Herons the strong favorites to beat New England and to take the points record off the Revolution.
Yet Inter Miami need to show just how unstoppable a force they can be by going all-out against Porter’s side, with Messi and company in good form heading into this weekend’s huge clash.
Indeed, the Herons know they can make history against New England, and a big result could give Inter Miami the confidence they need to go all the way in the play-offs.
