Inter Miami ended the MLS regular season with the Supporters’ Shield title and a record points total under their belt, with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez in fine form.
The pair played an influential role in the Herons making history this year in MLS, with Suarez revealing that he wants to stay at Inter Miami after Saturday’s incredible 6-2 win against the New England Revolution.
With Matt Doyle tipping Messi to win MLS MVP, the Argentine international and Suarez are two leading candidates to win the award after two incredible individual seasons with Inter Miami, who are MLS Cup favorites heading into the play-offs.
And Inter Miami star Benjamin Cremaschi has shared who he thinks will win MLS MVP.

Messi tipped to beat Suarez to MLS MVP award this year
Speaking to MLS’s official website, the USA international shared how he believes Messi is deserving of the MLS MVP award, with Cremaschi noting how the Argentine is ‘at another level’ compared to other stars in the league.
The 19-year-old midfielder did also note that Suarez should also be in contention for MVP, with the Uruguay star enjoying a sensational first year in MLS having already hit 24 goals in all competitions heading into the play-offs.
Indeed, Cremaschi, who David Beckham recently praised, will know better than anyone on who should win MLS MVP this year, and the Florida-born midfielder seems to have thrown his hat into the ring by advocating for Messi.
Cremaschi said: “I think so [Messi is MLS MVP]. Obviously Leo, the truth is he shows it every time he steps on the pitch. He is a player who is at another level, which shows more than a lot. Obviously, we also have Luis Suarez, who is there to be nominated, so hopefully, someone from the club can win it.”

Inter Miami would not be where they are without Messi or Suarez
Inter Miami have come leaps and bounds since Messi’s arrival last year, with the signing of Suarez also a huge reason behind the Florida franchise’s incredible rise from one of the worst teams in MLS to the best.
Yet even with Inter Miami this season learning how to win comfortably without Messi or Suarez in their squad, the pair have been as influential as any signing the Herons have made in the last 12 months.
And with the race for MLS MVP beginning to heat up, Inter Miami fans will know that Messi and Suarez are two strong candidates to win the award given their impressive numbers this season for Tata Martino’s side.
