Inter Miami have been left licking their wounds following their play-off defeat against Atlanta United.

Despite finishing a whopping 34 points above their MLS rivals, The Herons fell 3-2 to Atlanta – a result which stunned Inter Miami supporters.

The star power of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez would be undone by the discipline and hard work of the Five Stripes, with Tata Martino’s men left frustrated at Atlanta’s tactics.

The Herons have unsurprisingly been left heartbroken following their play-off exit but one Miami star is seemingly refusing to dwell on the defeat and has already got their eye on next season.

Leonardo Campana looks ahead to 2025 season following MLS play-off heartbreak

Inter Miami will no doubt want to be looking ahead to next season, but they must also reflect on the mistakes that cost them so dearly against Atlanta.

Martino’s decision to drop Julian Gressel was labelled as ‘insane’ by Armchair Analyst Matt Doyle and the Miami manager’s decision to also bench Leonardo Campana led to further raised eyebrows.

Campana, who came on as a 60th-minute sub, was ultimately unable to stop the tide of Atlanta – with the Five Stripes notching the winner in the 76th minute.

In the days since the play-off defeat, Campana has taken to Instagram to send a message to Inter Miami supporters ahead of next season.

“The end of a season that left us wanting so much more. Thank you to everyone who was with us this year!! Now to recharge batteries and think about what’s coming @InterMiamiCF”

Campana will be looking to build upon impressive 2024 campaign

Despite being benched for the play-off defeat, Campana can look back at the 2024 season with pride.

The Ecuadorian attacker enjoyed a breakout year in Miami, with MLS legend Bradley Wright Phillips praising Campana’s performances.

The 24-year-old’s impressive stats will leave Inter Miami fans feeling positive ahead of next campaign, especially if Campana can fulfill his promise of breaking Messi’s goal record.
