Inter Miami have been linked with Neymar for roughly a year now.
Under the guidance of David Beckham, the Major League Soccer outfit has become a landing spot for some of the greatest footballers of this era, such as Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, Luis Suarez and Jordi Alba.
In more recent times, Paul Pogba has been linked with Inter Miami too, suggesting Beckham has no plans to stop bringing elite talent to this part of the world.
Now – however – Inter Miami may have to settle for Neymar moving elsewhere.
Neymar set for Santos return
A story from Cesar Luis Merlo now states that Neymar “already has an agreement” to rejoin Santos – where it all started for the Brazil international.
The reliable journalist wrote on X (previously known as Twitter): “Neymar, ready to return to Santos. The club where he made his debut already has an agreement with the 32-year-old footballer. The termination of Al Hilal is being worked on and the idea is to announce it once the tournament that marked Peixe’s (Santos) return to the top flight is over.”
It comes after another journalist in Tariq Al-Nofal claimed that Inter Miami had made a bid to sign Neymar from Al Hilal, with Beckham hoping to reunite the South American alongside Messi and Suarez, who caused havoc together at Barcelona.
Paul Pogba deal could become more realistic for Inter Miami
While it seems Neymar will not be signing for Inter Miami, the funds saved from avoiding such an expensive deal will presumably increase the chances of Pogba arriving.

The France international was earning £170,000-a-week at Juventus before failing a drugs test and receiving a ban, so if he demands a similar salary to join Inter Miami, Beckham should be able to finance it, if Neymar really is moving back to Santos.
Only time will tell what happens for sure, but it certainly seems like there are ambitions to recruit at least one more stellar name in the near future.
