David Beckham has now been tasked with finding a new manager for Inter Miami after Tata Martino resigned.

The Argentine has decided to resign from his role as Head Coach – prompting Javier Mascherano to be linked with Inter Miami after impressing as manager of the Argentina U20 side.

Spanish legend Xavi could also take over at Inter Miami after leaving Barcelona at the end of last season, but a new name has now emerged on the scene in Sylvinho.

Inter Miami could appoint Sylvinho

A story from Mundo Deportivo now states that Inter Miami have Sylvinho on the shortlist to replace Martino.

The Spanish news outlet reiterate that Mascherano and Xavi are under consideration by Beckham, although the Brazilian – who is currently in charge of the Albania National Team – could also be hired.

Mundo Deportivo explain that Xavier Asensi is the key to these links, as all three have a history with Barcelona, where the Co-President of Inter Miami still holds strong connections.

Throughout his career – which also includes stints in charge of Lyon and Corinthians – Sylvinho has overseen 29 wins, 23 draws and 25 defeats from 77 games.

What Inter Miami fans can expect from Sylvinho if deal materialises

The 50-year-old has done a tremendous job in charge of Albania, impressing many at UEFA Euro 2024 last summer despite being placed in a group alongside eventual winners Spain, as well as Croatia and Italy.

Sylvinho – who the BBC said adopts an “aggressive attacking style” – was even given the Golden Decoration of the Eagle in November 2023 by Edi Rama, Prime Minister of Albania, for his efforts managing the nation, while also earning Albanian citizenship the following month.

Clearly, the South American has the ability to win people over with his exciting style of play, which could go down very well with the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Sergio Busquets in Miami.
