Inter Miami are set for a busy January transfer window, with Javier Mascherano’s appointment opening up a lot of potential avenues.

Angel Di Maria has already been linked with a move to Inter Miami with the Herons also rumored to be interested in a number of top players, including Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah, who could become a free-agent next summer.

With Neymar also a target for Inter Miami, there’s clearly an emphasis on the Florida franchise signing an attacker in January, with a third superstars to compliment Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez the stuff of dreams for supporters.

Yet one Inter Miami forward could now be set to leave as a result.

Inter Miami’s Matias Rojas attracting international interest

According to Claro Sports, Inter Miami winger Matias Rojas is attracting interest from the likes of Club America as well as teams from Brazil, with the Paraguay international only joining the Herons earlier this season.

Rojas was hailed as ‘unreal’ by Julian Gressel after an excellent first year with Inter Miami, with the versatile attacker proving to be an incredible depth option for Tata Martino’s side in their first full year of Messi.

With nine goals and two assists in all competitions, Rojas proved he could offer key cover in the attack when Inter Miami’s star forwards needed a break, with the Paraguay international making 20 appearances in total for the Herons.

However, if a big team from overseas was to make a tempting offer for Rojas, Inter Miami could find it hard to reject it given their plans for the January transfer window under their new manager Mascherano.

Rojas sale might be necessary if Inter Miami are to evolve under Mascherano

Given how restrictive MLS spending rules are compared to the rest of the world, there’s a real chance that Inter Miami will have to see a big-name player leave if they’re to bring in another superstar player.

And with Rojas attracting interest from the likes of Club America, Inter Miami might have to be forced into selling the former Corinthians star, who could relish away from MLS and being a key player elsewhere.

Indeed, Inter Miami have some big changes to make this off-season, and selling Rojas could be one of them, with the Paraguay international way too big a name to be stuck on the bench and acting as a backup option.
