Sergio Ramos has been rumored with a move to Inter Miami for some time, with the Spanish soccer legend still a free-agent heading into 2025.
The 38-year-old center-back left Sevilla at the end of last season with Ramos linked with a move to MLS as Inter Miami were one of the teams interested in signing the former Real Madrid and PSG superstar.
With Ramos still yet to find a club despite rumored interest from Saudi Arabia and Egypt, the veteran defender’s career remains in limbo, even with Inter Miami in the market for a new defender after the departure of Nicolas Freire.
Yet Boca Juniors could now be ready to make a move for Ramos right from under Inter Miami’s nose.

Boca Juniors readying swoop for Inter Miami target Ramos
According to journalist Leandro Aguilera, the Argentine giants are ready to sound out Ramos as a potential signing, with Boca Juniors already having some huge names in their squad in the form of Edinson Cavani and Marcos Rojo.
Aguilera posted on Twitter: “They are going to sound him out to see if he wants to come to Argentina to play for Boca. Sergio Ramos is on the Xeneize’s radar and it depends on what he wants to do with his career. The Spanish centre-back, champion of everything, is 38 years old and is a free agent.”
With Inter Miami also interested in signing FC Barcelona defender Marc Bartra, missing out on Ramos won’t be the end of the world, even with the center-back regarded as one of the best of all time and a former teammate of Messi’s.
And with Boca Juniors making a play to sign Ramos having secured many big-name deals in recent years, the South American giants could be where the defender ends up playing in the final years of his career, much to Inter Miami’s dismay.

Ramos transfer could open door for Inter Maimi to sign Marcos Rojo
Ramos snubbing Inter Miami for Boca Juniors wouldn’t be a total loss for the Herons, with the transfer potentially opening the door for the Florida franchise to sign Messi’s former Argentine international teammate Rojo.
Rojo has been rumored with a move to Inter Miami last year, with Messi even trying to personally convince the Boca Juniors defender to make the move to MLS having already recruited Luis Suarez.
And if Ramos joins the Argentine giants, there could be an opportunity for Inter Miami to make another swoop for Marcos Rojo, who could jump at the chance to play with Messi at club level in Florida.
