2024 was a hugely successful year for Inter Miami – success that was aided by a number of clever signings.
David Beckham and the Inter Miami owners have not been afraid to splash the cash since the club’s inception in 2018.
Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Jordi Alba have been some of the most high-profile signings to date – but Inter Miami have also been very clever at building a well-rounded squad with some lesser-known names.
The Herons’ 2024 signings have been a perfect example of this, with several new stars making a big impact on the club’s Supporters’ Shield success.
With that being said though, who is Inter Miami’s best signing of 2024? Inter Miami News tries to rank them below…
5) Nicolas Freire
Starting off our list is Argentinian center-back Nicolas Freire. The 30-year-old arrived on loan from Mexican side UNAM in January and would go on to make 14 appearances for Miami.
Freire impressed in the early stages of the campaign, but his season would be sadly cut short by an ACL injury in May.
4) Julian Gressel
Arriving at the Chase Stadium as a free agent, Julian Gressel was signed to bring some more creativity to Inter Miami’s right-hand flank.
The US international would provide the goods needed, registering nine assists in the MLS – with five of those coming in consecutive fixtures.
3) Federico Redondo
Arguably Inter Miami’s most exciting signing of 2024, Federico Redondo impressed during his first campaign in Vice City – following his transfer from Argentinos Juniors.
Initially arriving injured, the 21-year-old grew into the campaign, going to make 25 appearances in total.
Expect big things from Redondo in 2025.
2) Matias Rojas
Undoubtedly Inter Miami’s best-attacking signing of 2024, Matias Rojas’ free transfer helped boost the Herons frontline in the final stages of the season.
The Paraguayan international notched an impressive 11 goal contributions in 20 appearances, with four of those goals coming in the Leagues Cup.
1) Marcelo Weigandt
It was a tough task ranking this list but the crown of Inter Miami’s best signing of 2024, simply had to go to Marcelo Weigandt.
Arriving from Argentinian giants Boca Juniors, Weigandt soon found his feet in Vice City, becoming a mainstay in the Inter Miami defense.
With another year left on his loan deal, the 24-year-old will be hoping to continue his fine form under new boss and fellow countryman Javier Mascherano.
