Inter Miami have had to deal with a number of departures ahead of the 2025 season.
The Herons’ transfer plans were initially thrown into doubt after sporting director Chris Henderson decided to switch to Atlanta United.
In terms of on the pitch, Diego Gomez has transferred to Brighton & Hove Albion, meanwhile, fan favorite Leo Campana has joined New England Revolution.
David Beckham and the fellow Herons owners have acted quickly to replace these departures with free-agent Fafa Picault arriving from Vancouver Whitecaps and Tadeo Allende soon tipped to join Inter Miami from Celta Vigo.
With these signings in mind, do the likes of Allende actually fill the void of Campana and co?

Tadeo Allende could be perfect Leo Campana replacement
Campana revealed he left Inter Miami in search of game time, having played second fiddle to Luis Suarez for the majority of 2024.
MLS legend Bradley Wright-Phillips praised Campana for stepping up in Suarez’s absence, claiming the Ecuadorian always took the opportunities when presented to him.
That is something Allende will have to replicate if he is to succeed at the Chase Stadium.
Stats | Tadeo Allende | Leo Campana |
23/24 | 10 apps (1 goal – 0 assists) | 35 apps (9 goals – 2 assists) |
22/23 | 38 apps (10 goals – 4 assists) | 37 apps (11 goals – 5 assists) |
21/22 | 42 apps (5 goals – 3 assists) | 28 apps (12 goals – 1 assist) |
Despite struggling in front of goal in recent times, Allende has thrived in the final during his time back in Argentina with CD Godoy Cruz – suggesting if he is given more of a chance he could provide the goods needed.
Also in terms of their position on the pitch, Allende is a lot more versatile than Campana – who almost exclusively played as a striker during his three years in Vice City.

Allende will have to back-up Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez output
With the majority of Inter Miami’s goals coming from Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, Allende will no doubt be tasked with filling their big void if they are injured – something which could become a regular occurrence.
Messi for example suffered an injury-hit 2024 campaign, only managing 19 appearances in the MLS.
With Allende set to join and Picault already through the door, it seems like Inter Miami recognizes Messi’s fading fitness – whether those two players can fill the void of the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner is another question though.
