The stars continue to exit Chase Stadium this offseason with Inter Miami waving goodbye to their latest name.
The Herons had already seen goalkeeper CJ dos Santos join MLS newcomers San Diego FC and now Franco Negri has also joined the newbies through the MLS Re-Entry Draft.
Negri has reportedly signed a deal with San Diego until December 2026 where he will be looking to get regular playing time, something he couldn’t get at Inter Miami.
The Argentine’s exit comes as the club has already parted ways with both Diego Gomez who has joined Brighton and Hove Albion and Leo Campana who moved to the New England Revolution.

Negri struggled to make Inter Miami impact
Despite being with the Herons for two seasons the 29-year-old was rarely able to have an impact on the starting eleven.
Negri made just 27 MLS appearances following his arrival from Godoy Cruz despite being a versatile left-footer who could play as a full-back or winger.
He contributed just 1 goal and 2 assists in the league and as a result, spent some time with Inter Miami II.
Despite winning a Supporters Shield with the Herons his memory will perhaps not be fond ones given his lack of opportunities.

Inter Miami in need of reinforcements
While it has long been known that Negri was going to move on from the club very little has been done to find a potential replacement.
Javier Mascherano has signed Fafa Picault from the Vancouver Whitecaps following his contract exit, but no new names have walked through the door.
The issue Inter Miami has is that Jordi Alba is going to more often than not play as the club’s left-back, meaning any signing on that side would have to be happy being a squad player.
There are no doubts that Inter Miami could do with some new faces through the door to bolster their thinning squad.
The Herons’ two MLS SuperDraft picks are unlikely to make instant impacts and Inter Miami faces a tough opening MLS fixture against New York City FC.
