Inter Miami could target two World Cup winners who are set to become free agents in 2025 – Messi would approve

Inter Miami’s Javier Mascherano recently made his first signing since taking over as manager but could have his eyes set on two Argentinian stars who could become free agents.

The Herons signed Fafa Picault from the Vancouver Whitecaps and he will provide much-needed cover for an Inter Miami attack that is lacking in depth.

Leo Campana recently left to join the New England Revolution leaving Mascherano with limited attacking options.

Luis Suarez thankfully signed a new contract, while Lionel Messi’s future remains uncertain beyond 2025.

The club require some new additions and two World Cup winners could become available.

Leandro Paredes

There’s no doubt that Inter Miami need a striker but they are also looking for a new central midfielder following another club departure.

Deigo Gomez joined Brighton and Hove Albion and his exit will be a big loss for the Herons as he was one of the first names on the teamsheet.

One man who could fill the void left by Gomez is current AS Roma star Leandro Paredes.

The World Cup-winning midfielder has played just nine games for the struggling Italian side this season and he has yet to sign a new contract with the side which ends this summer.

Paredes is a no-nonsense tackler and would fit the profile of the exited Gomez perfectly. Mascherano has already been linked with Nicolas Otamendi, so Paredes could also be a target.

Paulo Dybala

After the exit of Campana Inter Miami only have one experienced central striker in Luis Suarez.

They did sign Michael Appiah through the MLS SuperDraft, the youngster is a striker by trade but it is unlikely he will be expected to hit the ground running straight away.

If Dybala does become available he would help take some of the goal-scoring weight away from Suarez and Messi, whilst also adding a ton of experience to an Inter Miami side looking to win the MLS Cup this season.

Dybala had made over 250 appearences in the Serie A and has notched up over 130 goals in that time.

The Argentine was named Seria A MVP in 2019 and also won no fewer than 10 titles in his time at Juventus. His spell with Roma has been less succesful but he is still making a major contribution to the team with his goals and creativity.

Dybala is out of contract in June and would make a great replacement for the departed Campana.
