Inter Miami are in the market for a number of players this January, and focus is once again on Argentina and players Lionel Messi has played with.
From AS Roma superstar Paulo Dybala to Argentina legend Angel Di Maria, Inter Miami are making it no secret that they’re interested in adding players to their roster who have a connection with Messi, with Javier Mascherano’s influence likely to help the Herons bring in a big name of two.
With Inter Miami losing key players this winter already with the likes of Nicolas Freire, Leonardo Campana and Matias Rojas, top signings are needed if Inter Miami are to compete at the highest level this year, especially with the FIFA Club World Cup coming up in the summer.
And Inter Maimi have switched their attention to a former Argentina international.

Inter Miami interested in signing goalkeeping veteran Nahuel Guzman
According to Strikers, Inter Miami have added Nahuel Guzman to their growing list of transfer targets, with the 38-year-old goalkeeper believed to be interested in a move to the Florida franchise to reunite with Messi.
A former Argentina international who part of the 2018 FIFA World Cup squad, Guzman has spent the majority of his career in Mexico, with a move to MLS now seemingly on the goalkeeper’s mind with Inter Miami now interested.
With Mascherano believed to be interested in replacing Drake Callander, an experienced head in Guzman would be a sensible move for Inter Miami, who know that next season they must improve defensively if they’re to go all the way in the post-season.
Indeed, adding to the back will be key if Inter Miami are to challenge for every piece of silverware next season, and although Guzman might not be an upgrade on Callender, the added Argentine influence could help get the best out of others in the squad.

What other Argentina players have Inter Miami been linked with?
Inter Miami have fully thrown themselves into become a hub for Argentina players in the United States, with Messi just one of four from the South American nation in the Herons’ first-team roster.
Yet that number looks set to balloon this January, with Gonzalo Lujan linked with a move to Inter Miami as the defender looks set to leave San Lorenzo for nothing due to a contract dispute, opening the door for a switch to Florida.
With former West Ham star Manuel Lanzini also believed to be on Inter Miami’s radar, the Argentine clique is set to grow in the coming weeks, and the Herons could be all the better for it if these deals do indeed go through.
