Inter Miami’s 2025 squad is starting to take shape under new boss Javier Mascherano.
Having seen the likes of Diego Gomez and Leo Campana already depart Vice City, David Beckham and co have acted swiftly to back their new manager.
Inter Miami’s attacking ranks have been boosted by the free agent signing of Fafa Picault, meanwhile, Tadeo Allende also looks set to join the Herons.
In defense, Inter Miami have agreed to sign Gonzalo Lujan from San Lorenzo – with defensive reinforcements seemingly high on Mascherano’s radar.

Inter Miami make move for Sao Paulo’s Nahuel Ferraresi
Nicolas Freire’s move to Independiente has left the Herons seriously light in terms of defensive options.
With that being said, Inter Miami have been linked with a whole host of defensive targets – the latest of those being Nahuel Ferraresi.
That is according to Andre Hernan on X (formerly Twitter), who claims Mascherano’s side have made an ‘enquiry’ for the center-back – with Miami targeting a loan deal.
Ferraresi’s parent club Sao Paulo are reportedly yet to respond to the interest and it is currently unknown whether a deal can be struck.
Ferraresi could make big impact at Inter Miami
Having conceded the same amount of MLS goals as 9th-placed Atlanta United in 2024 (49), Mascherano will no doubt want to tighten up the Miami backline.
With that being said, Ferraresi could potentially be the key to improving the Herons defense.
Having made over 30 appearances for the Venezuelan national team, the 26-year-old is vastly experienced and could provide Mascherano with some much-needed defensive quality.
Ferraresi was part of the Venezuela team that impressed in the 2024 Copa America – playing a key role in their run to the quarter-finals.
Nahuel Ferraresi’s Copa America stats | |
Minutes played | 301 |
Average match rating | 7.04 |
Tackles per 90 | 2.3 |
Interceptions per 90 | 1 |
Clearances per 90 | 5.7 |
Whether it be Ferraresi or one of Miami’s many other defensive targets, Mascherano undoubtedly needs to get defensive recruits through the door before the 2025 campaign kicks off.
