Inter Miami struggled to keep clean sheets last season and it is perhaps no surprise that they are in the hunt for a new shot-stopper.
The Herons kept just six clean sheets in their 34 MLS games last season and Drake Callender who recently received an international call-up, is the club’s only known goalkeeper going into the new season.
CJ dos Santos left to join new MLS side San Diego FC, and while the club have been linked with a number of goalkeepers they are yet to bring one through the door.
Inter Miami are keen on Lanus’ goalkeeper Nahuel Losada but it appears a deal may have hit an impasse.

Inter Miami’s Losada negotiations ‘stopped’
There is no doubt that Javier Mascherano’s side is seeking some reinforcements between the sticks but it appears they have been dealt a blow for their main target.
According to journalist Thiago Alvarez Rico, negotiations between Nahuel Losada and Inter Miami have stopped. The goalkeeper’s entourage is said to be waiting for the call from the Herons to advance.
Losada is experienced at the age of 31 and only recently joined Lanus in 2024 following a long stint with Belgrano where he made over 100 appearances.
His experience could be vital to an Inter Miami defense that has been screaming out for leadership.

Inter Miami’s alternative goalkeeper options
While it appears Losada is the club’s number-one choice Inter Miami has also shown interest in fellow Argentinian Nahuel Guzman.
Drake Callender is Inter Miami’s current first-choice keeper but he has been linked with a move away from the club.
Whether he stays or goes Inter Miami will be without Callender for Javier Mascherano’s opening game meaning that a new name will be seen between the sticks.
It may be worth David Beckham and Mascherano exploring the free-agent market with former Real Madrid star Keylor Navas and Lorius Karius available.
Inter Miami fans will be hoping for some goalkeeping reinforcements before they open their MLS campaign. The Herons face a tough New York City FC side who have a strong record against them.
