Inter Miami are back in training after a lengthy off-season break, with Lionel Messi and company joined by a new face in Fafa Picault.
The 33-year-old Haiti international joined the Herons earlier this month as Picault became Inter Miami’s newest addition after the arrival of new manager Javier Mascherano, with the striker bringing MLS experience and depth in the attack.
With Inter Miami set to sign Telasco Segovia in a deal worth $2.5m, the Florida franchise are not stopping at just Picault when it comes to new signings, with the Herons also close to recruiting Gonzalo Lujan from Argentina side San Lorenzo.
And Picault has now given his first impression of training with Inter Miami and alongside the likes of Messi.

Picault amazed by Inter Miami experience alongside Messi
Speaking to reporters after training, the former Vancouver Whitecaps star shared how amazing it was to train alongside the likes of Messi and Inter Miami’s other marquee players, with Picault set to provide center-forward cover for Luis Suarez.
With Inter Miami also linked with Neymar, there’s a real chance that Picault could be joined by another titan in soccer if the Herons get their way in the transfer market, and the MLS veteran appears to be loving every moment with his new team.
Picault said when asked about training with Messi and Inter Miami’s other superstars: “I think it’s just amazing, it’s really cool. You can see the quality he has and what makes him who he is, and then you add in the other guys as well who have all had amazing careers.
“There here for a reason and they’re big names for a reason, so the opportunity to feed off them and to bring something in addition to the team is going to be great.”

Who is Picault replacing at Inter Miami this season?
Messi and Suarez might be the two main names in Inter Miami’s squad, but having reliable cover could be just as important as having the former FC Barcelona duo in the first place, something Picault could provide.
And the Haiti international was seemingly brought in to do just that, with Inter Miami selling Leonardo Campana to the New England Revolution earlier this month despite being a good backup for Messi and Suarez last season.
Indeed, Inter Miami were decisive in signing Picault to replace the Ecuador international, and heading into the 2025 MLS season, having the experience striker as backup for Messi and Suarez could be key in Mascherano leading his new side to glory.
