Javier Mascherano will not give up on his pursuit of young Argentinian midfielder Baltasar Rodrigez despite struggling to sell a key star.
Inter Miami has been busy bringing in new stars in recent weeks with the Herons recently signing Telasco Segovia from Casa Pia.
While Segovia is seen as a strong replacement for the departed Diego Gomez, who joined Brighton and Hove Albion, it appears Mascherano is after more midfield reinforcements.
Although Mascherano would like some new attacking talent he faces competition for Rodriguez with another MLS side in the hunt. The potential sale of Farias could see Inter Miami miss out on their target.

Inter Miami’s pursuit of Rodriguez has been clear for some time and according to reports the club has reportedly already agreed on a verbal contract with the youngster.
The 21-year-old is a highly touted midfielder who would bring some star quality to the Herons’ midfield.
The recent reports also suggest that any potential swap deal between the two clubs, which would see Farias head to Racing is not progressing well.
Farias was not seen during Inter Miami’s pre-season penalty victory against Club America, suggesting he is unlikely to be part of the season plans.
Inter Miami would have to pay a fine for selling Farias, something that is seen as a potential issue in his sale.
A loan deal may help speed up the deal but Racing is now waiting for an offer to sell him, and will not accept a loan.
The stalling of the deal has seen Inter Miami face potential competition from another MLS rival.

While Inter Miami has been trying to agree on a deal with Racing for Rodriguez another MLS side is now looking to jump in.
According to reports FC Dallas is now interested in the signing of Rodriguez. If Inter Miami are relying on the sale of Farias to secure the midfielder they may miss out.
Racing seems keen on a transfer and a deal will need to be completed soon with the MLS season just around the corner.
