Inter Miami have seen wholesale changes this off-season under new manager Javier Mascherano, with the Herons looking good in pre-season.
New signing Tadeo Allende was praised by Inter Miami fans after scoring in this weekend’s 3-1 pre-season win against Sporting San Miguelito, with the Argentine attacker looking like a good addition to the squad.
One player who left Inter Miami this winter was Leonardo Campana, with the Ecuador international making the surprise move to the New England Revolution having last season occupied a Designated Player spot.
And it hasn’t taken long for Campana to get off the mark with the Boston franchise, with the striker scoring for New England in pre-season already.

Campana scores for New England ahead of 2025 MLS season
Having left Inter Miami to become a star player elsewhere in MLS, Campana is seemingly making good on his word after scoring for New England in their pre-season draw against the Houston Dynamo.
With Campana one of Inter Miami’s most expensive signings and a former Designated Player, New England know they have got a good deal with the former Wolves striker, who at 24-years-old still has plenty of developing to do before he’s reached his final form.
Indeed, former manager Tata Martino was a big fan of Campana’s as the South American striker established himself as the perfect backup option for Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez when either attacker was unavailable for a game.
And Campana’s comments about not playing with Messi anymore at Inter Miami paint a picture of a player who could make waves in MLS at the New England Revolution if he can apply himself in the correct manner.
Campana claimed he’ll score more for New England than at Inter Miami
Campana left Inter Miami as the club’s second all-time leading goalscorer before Messi, naturally, broke that record later on in the 2024 season, and despite also being arguably the greatest creator in all of soccer, the Ecuador international is excited to play away from Florida this year.
But since departing, Campana has admitted that it will be easier for him to score goals for New England than at Inter Miami due to the players the Revolution have on their books and the service the striker will get as the main man.
Whether or not Campana will live up to his own hype remains to be seen, but the striker’s confidence will encourage New England fans on what’s to come in the coming season.
